    Position Title:
    Bus Driver

     

    Work Hours:
    4 hrs/day

     

    Pay Range:
    $21.04 - $26.73

     

    Organizational Relationship:
    Reports to: Transportation Supervisor or designee.

     

    Qualifications:

     
    1. Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
    2. Possess a valid CDL with a minimum of Class B school bus and passenger endorsement, or any other state or federal licensure requirement.
    3. Pass random drug/alcohol screening tests.
    4. Additional qualifications as deemed appropriate and necessary under law by the Board. Such qualifications shall not be arbitrary or capricious.
    5. Class B CDL training provided at no cost
     

    Job Goal:
    Provide safe and efficient transportation of students.

     

    Specific Responsibilities:

     
    1. Report to work and perform a pre-trip inspection, including checking lights, safety equipment, and a 15-minute warm-up period.
    2. Perform a post-trip inspection, ensuring all occupants have vacated the bus.
    3. Notify the transportation supervisor or designee in case of a moving violation or accident in a personal vehicle off-duty.
    4. Notify the transportation supervisor or local police of an accident or moving violation while on duty. Remain on the bus with students until given instructions by local police and complete all necessary accident reports.
    5. Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses and immediately report accidents and injuries to the transportation supervisor or designee.
    6. Keep and maintain the assigned bus interior in a clean condition.
    7. Optional exterior cleaning of the bus.
    8. Notify the transportation supervisor or designee of vandalism, mechanical failure, or other issues.
    9. Recognize job hazards and take proper precautions to ensure personal, fellow employees', and public safety.
    10. Report undisciplined students to building principals or designee.
    11. Pick up and drop off students at designated stops and times per the transportation supervisor’s schedule. Transport only authorized students.
    12. Enforce all state, local, and school policies.
    13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager or designee.
