Job Description

Lake Park High School is currently hiring two Evening Custodians (one East Campus and one West Campus), as detailed below:

AVAILABILITY: 7/1/2026

POSITION SUMMARY: The custodian maintains a clean environment, maintains equipment in a state of operational readiness, and ensures the safety of each area in all District facilities.

EAST CAMPUS HOURS: Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. during the school year (August through the end of May or beginning of June). During the summer break period (June through the beginning of August), Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour days based on daily work hours chosen from the offered schedule.

WEST CAMPUS HOURS: Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. during the school year (August through the end of May or beginning of June). During the summer break period (June through the beginning of August), Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour days based on daily work hours chosen from the offered schedule.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a custodial or maintenance position preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed
  • Demonstrated aptitude as a self-starter who works with minimal supervision
  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Strong orientation toward providing customer service
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work positively and productively with adults and high school-age students  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:  Evening Custodian   
 
SALARY & BENEFITS:   $23.41 to $26.49 per hour based on experience per Appendix B: ESP Salary Schedules (Custodial) in the District 108 Negotiated Agreement. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
