Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach

Position Overview

St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach to support the continued growth of our lacrosse program. This position works closely with the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach to develop student-athletes both on and off the field, while promoting sportsmanship, accountability, and the mission of SPC.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting daily practices

  • Help teach fundamental lacrosse skills, team concepts, and game strategy

  • Support game-day preparation, in-game coaching, and post-game evaluations

  • Encourage academic success, character development, and positive team culture

  • Maintain open and professional communication with athletes, coaches, and administration

  • Assist with supervision of student-athletes during practices, games, and team events

  • Help with equipment management and setup/breakdown for practices and contests

  • Uphold and enforce school, athletic department, and FHSAA policies

Qualifications

  • Prior lacrosse playing and/or coaching experience (high school or collegiate level preferred)

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff

  • Commitment to mentoring high school student-athletes

  • Reliable availability for practices, games, and team events

  • CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Completion of all school, diocesan, and FHSAA coaching requirements

  • Organized, dependable, and enthusiastic

  • Ability to connect with student-athletes of varying skill levels

Time Commitment

  • Practices typically held weekday afternoons

  • Games during weekdays and occasional weekends

  • Preseason preparation and off-season involvement as directed by the Head Coach

Compensation

  • Stipend position, commensurate with experience
