The Cisco Technician is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) within a secure environment. This role involves configuring, monitoring, repairing, and testing Cisco networking devices and Fortinet firewalls to ensure optimal network performance and security. The technician will support synthetic training events, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain compliance with Defence ICT standards.
Description
- Configuration and maintenance of Cisco & Fortinet Network devices
- Implement and manage LAN & WAN environments
- Preventative maintenance of network devices
- Own all documentation and reporting on devices and environments you have ownership over
- Deliver all services as per customer and internal needs and requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience with configuring and supporting Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
- Proficiency in Cisco operating systems
- Strong understanding of Cisco networking concepts and technologies
- Bachelors or Diploma in Computer Science and/or Information Technology or equivalent experience
- Already hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance, and have the ability to maintain that clearance
- Ability to work on-site at HMAS Watson, 5 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification
- Knowledge of WAN functions and network/data protocols
- Skills in network performance monitoring and optimisation
