Transportation Specialist
Huntsman is seeking a Transportation Specialist supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Costa Rica. This position will report to the Logistics Shipping Supervisor.

Job Scope
The Transportation Specialist is part of the Logistics Shipping Team, reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, and is responsible for overseeing, executing, and optimizing daily bulk and packaged transportation operations for isocyanates and polyols materials to customers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This role ensures the timely and accurate execution of truck shipments originating from Huntsman Polyurethanes manufacturing plants, packaging facilities, transloading sites, distribution warehouses, and others. The use of ERP (SAP) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS, e.g., Uber Freight), and other tools balances transactional work with data-enabled transportation management and continuous improvement. This role also serves as a backup for the Bulk Truck and Bulk Transload Coordinators.

In summary, as the Transportation Specialist, you will:

•    Monitor and manage bulk and/or package shipments using ERP (SAP) reports and TMS. 
•    Process sales orders for execution, ensuring shipping and delivery dates as requested by customers. 
•    Serve as the primary point of contact for Customer Service for freight coverage. 
•    Act as a liaison between distribution warehouses, TMS providers (e.g., Uber Freight), and carriers. 
•    Communicate with Production Planners to maintain alignment between production and shipping forecasts. 
•    Coordinate outbound shipments with packaging facilities based on drumming schedules. 
•    Coordinate outbound shipments with transloading sites and warehouses. 
•    Ensure Service Level Agreement compliance when supporting Customer Service with regular updates on forecasts, delivery notes, shipment planning, equipment changes, rush order execution, and new customer onboarding. 
•    Prepare key performance indicators (KPIs) on a monthly basis using TMS and Power BI dashboards. 
•    Review carrier KPIs provided by TMS providers (e.g., Uber Freight) to identify and mitigate carrier-related issues. 
•    Other KPIs will be measured: lead time (order cycle) and freight accessorial costs. 
•    Contribute to OTIF targets by coding late orders accordingly. 
•    Facilitate vendor invoice resolution with Logistics Payables. 
•    Ensure compliance with DOT, trade regulations, Incoterms, and emergency response policies. 
•    Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance transportation performance. 

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications
•    Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain, with professional experience in a similar role in a manufacturing company. 
•    5+ years of professional experience in the field of logistics and/or supply chain. 

Skills and knowledge
•    Background in freight terms, Incoterms, and vendor relationships. 
•    Fluent in English and Spanish. 
•    Fluent use of ERP systems (SAP). 
•    Experience with TMS. 
•    Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. 
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Supply Chain (S&OP and/or Logistics) knowledge. 
•    Lean Six Sigma proven knowledge. 
•    Balancing commercial priorities and operational capabilities.
