    Position Status:    Full Time Position/230-day work calendar

    Salary:         $20.50 - $24.50


    SUMMARY

    Receives, reviews, and types incoming transcripts, figures incoming grade point averages, and maintains all student records and transcripts by performing the following duties.
     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Performs all registration procedures including: receiving, reviewing, and preparing incoming transcripts.

    Figures grade point averages or enters appropriate information into computer programs for grades.

    Maintains student records and transcripts. Updates enrollment lists and counts.

    Handles various tasks in the Registration Office including registration, withdrawals, attendance, concurrent enrollment, curriculum offerings, etc. Notifies teachers of student withdrawals.

    Sends copies of transcripts and withdrawal/transfer information to other schools or appropriate places.

    Interviews incoming students to determine in-district status.

    Composes correspondence to various agencies regarding student records or handles dissemination of information over the phone to other schools, parents, staff, employment offices, etc.

    Distributes, collects, and files new student screening forms.

    Assists counselors in various duties.

    Prepares county and state reports.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to type at least 40 wpm. Clerical experience in an educational setting helpful. Working knowledge of computer programs and spreadsheets.

    Clerical testing may be required for this position.

    Must possess valid IVP Card

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret district policy publications, transcripts, student records, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, school correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, students, parents, other school employees, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
