Job Description

Job Description:

  • Hybrid position, working on site in Washington, DC and remotely.
  • The Principal Agilist will serve as the enterprise leader for a large-scale Agile transformation effort within a federal environment. This individual will be responsible for leading and guiding full SAFe implementations across complex, multi-team organizations. 
  • The Principal Agilist will operate at the executive level, advising senior government stakeholders, driving cultural and operational transformation, and ensuring measurable delivery outcomes. This is a highly visible, key personnel role requiring deep expertise in enterprise Agile transformation, SAFe implementation, and organizational change leadership.
  • Lead enterprise-wide SAFe transformation initiatives across multiple programs and portfolios.
  • Serve as executive advisor to government leadership on Agile adoption strategy.
  • Establish Lean-Agile governance models and scalable delivery frameworks.
  • Coach executives, Release Train Engineers, Product Management, and Agile teams.
  • Design and implement transformation roadmaps aligned to mission outcomes.
  • Drive measurable improvements in delivery velocity, quality, and operational performance.
  • Build and sustain high-performing Agile teams across the organization.
  • Ensure long-term institutionalization of Agile practices and cultural change.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Must have a SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC) Certification, active
  • Minimum 20 years of experience delivering IT solutions
  • Minimum 15 years leading Agile implementations in medium to large organizations
  • Minimum 10 years leading enterprise-level SAFe transformations
  • Expert in SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices to drive value and sustain organizational change and operational excellence through the empowering of high-performing Agile teams
  • Experience supporting federal healthcare or healthcare IT environments preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading complex organizational change initiatives
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
