Job Description

Production Team Lead 

MATALCO – Franklin, KY. Using recycled aluminum and state of the art technology, we are Matalco - North America's largest independent aluminum billet and slab provider. We’re looking for Team Lead to join our production team. Our work is challenging and our results rewarding. The Team Lead will be responsible for supporting the Shift Supervisor by leading a production crew, fostering a high commitment to safety, while delivering on Matalco’s commitment to quality and achievement of production goals.

Job Responsibilities
• Demonstrates commitment to safety, contributes to and promotes safe work practices, ensures 100% compliance with all safety procedures, including reporting all accidents, incidents and unsafe conditions.
• Recommends improvements to processes and procedures.
• Ensures crew makes quality customer products.
• Leads team members to ensure continual flow of product through all production areas, overseeing results and adherence to company policies (e.g. safety, attendance, performance, data reporting, and housekeeping).
• Trains and supports team member development, coaching to competence.
• Provides continual communication to operators to develop a lean, responsive, and knowledgeable workforce that achieves results. 

Experience
• 1-3 years of manufacturing experience or foundry experience required.
• 1-3 years of experience operating mobile equipment, front end loader, forklift, and overhead crane.
• 1-3 years prior leadership experience.

Requirements
• 100% commitment to following safety requirements.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to lead crews by example, guiding and assisting employees to achieve specific goals and objectives.
• A team player with strong knowledge of charging, casting, and saw operations.

Schedules
We are a 24/7 company, working 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, which means you will work some holidays and every other weekend. It also means you are generally scheduled to work ½ the month and are off ½ the month. (No rotating between days and nights).
