Job Description

 


PRIMARY FUNCTION: 


 Responsible for building,maintaining, organizing and tracking a perpetual daily, weekly, monthly and yearly POS nutrition software program for the front and back of the house. Includes but not limited to receiving weekly and monthly deliveries of food products, paper products and government (USDA) goods. Support daily cafeteria operations as needed such as preparing, serving, cleaning, operating cash registers and other kitchen duties as assigned. Required to work at both LES and LHS.


 


REPORTS TO: Director of Food Services


 


 


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:





    1. Assumes responsibilities for ordering, receiving, storing, handling, preparing and serving of food according to established standards outlined in HACCP procedures.

    2. Inspects food deliveries;monitors temperatures on freezer, refrigerator and food; maintains and tracks daily, weekly, monthly and yearly POS inventory software

    3. Maintains accurate child nutrition paperwork. Such as VDOE production records including food, equipment, government inventories and meets all deadlines for paperwork. 

    4. Operates computers to include but not limited to: downloads, food production records, food inventory, end of day and month procedures, weekly roster to be used in the event of power failure, and the ability to send and receive email.

    5. Performs other duties as assigned.




 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & Education Requirements:


A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and four years’ experience in food services; or a degree in food and nutrition, institutional management or a related field, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to either of the above. Efficient in computer operations with knowledge of Google suite, Microsoft Windows, MS- Word and MS-Excel. Ability to organize and maintain a school nutrition software database. Follows dress code as outlined in the Lancaster County Staff Handbook. Ability to complete written forms and records and submit to the appropriate office by designated due date. Successful completion of an approved sanitation course within 30 days.


 


 


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: 


Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use equipment; see and read printed material with or without vision aids; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; to bend, to stoop, to walk and to reach overhead. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students. Travel between LES and LHS.
