WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Rooftop is seeking unarmed Security/Ambassadors to play a key role in maintaining the safety, flow, and overall guest experience for our guests. This individual is responsible for monitoring the rooftop elevator to ensure it does not exceed load and assisting in managing overall rooftop occupancy in accordance with local regulations. This is a guest-facing role that requires both attention to detail and a warm, welcoming presence.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor rooftop elevator traffic and ensure it does not exceed 8 guests at a time
  • Assist in tracking rooftop occupancy and communicate updates to the MOD
  • Greet and engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner
  • Notify the MOD when guests request to take the stairs or when stairs are in use
  • Maintain a visible, approachable presence near the elevator and/or stairwell during peak periods
  • Collaborate with rooftop and hotel staff to support smooth guest flow and manage wait times
  • Step in to assist with guest crowd control as needed
  • Adhere to all property safety protocols and local occupancy guidelines

Please note that this is not an inclusive list and team members are at times asked to assist with other tasks to best serve the business. Other tasks may be assigned by The Rooftop General Manager or other managers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, security, or a related field preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Comfortable standing and actively engaging with guests for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English in order to follow directions and procedures, and communicate with the team and guests.
  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision.
  • Calm and confident in high-traffic environments.
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and proactive.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Equipment to Be Used:

  • Guest counting software, apps, or manual clicker.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to go up and down four flights of stairs multiple times throughout the shift.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing and sometimes stressful work environment.

Work Environment:

  • High guest interaction, involving varying conditions and circumstances with guests, team members, and managers.
  • Fast-paced; high volume; team-oriented.
  • Outside with some covered areas in variable and changing weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain.

Hourly Pay:

  • $18.00 per hour part-time.
  • Sign-on bonus: $250 awarded after 3 months of employment and an additional $250 awarded after 6 months of employment.
