What is a Medical Assistant? 


A Medical Assistant is a Healthcare Professional who supports the provider by performing both clinical and non clinical tasks. This allows the appointment to move more efficiently. A Medical Assistant will typically room patients, take vitals, draw blood, and administer medications as needed. Medical Assistants work closely with providers to ensure quality patient care; and often act as a critical link between the provider and the patient. 


What Qualifications do I need as a Medical Assistant? 


A Certified Medical Assistant has a Washington State Department of Health license. A Certified Medical Assistant has also passed the National Medical Assistant Certification Exam (AAMA or NCCT).
