    SALARY & BENEFITS: Based on current teacher contract

    QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a current teacher license in the assigned area or be able and willing to obtain one prior to the start of the assignment

    DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Building Principal

    CONTRACT DAYS & HOURS: 185 days from mid-August through mid-June as dictated by the annual school calendar. On contract days, building hours are typically 7:30am - 3:30pm, but may be occasionally changed or extended to help fulfill professional duties. Additional time outside of the building will be needed to successfully complete duties and responsibilities listed below.

    TYPICAL JOB DUTIES: 

    1. Provide specialized instruction to help address IEP goals and objectives while in resource time
    2. Routinely track and monitor student progress towards IEP goals as well as academic progress
    3. Develop innovative lesson plans for classes that encourage engagement and promote learning in either co-taught or replacement courses
    4. Conduct classroom student and instruction in a way that helps each and every student learn
    5. Develop IEPs for students that meet all of the needs and goals of the student as well as complying with all current state and federal regulations
    6. Facilitate IEP meetings for your caseload and complete the appropriate documentation within the legally mandated timelines
    7. Help general education teachers modify lessons and activities to meet the needs of all students with IEPs
    8. Conduct evaluations and reevaluations as needed for the students on your caseload
    9. Work with classroom teachers for students on your caseload to help ensure success and accountability for the students
    10. Regularly communicates with parents/guardians about academic progress and behavior to help promote a cooperative approach to helping students grow
    11. Collaborates with department members and other colleagues to help improve both the student experience and instructional techniques
    12. Participates in building wide activities to help promote a positive culture for both students and staff
    13. Work with outside resources, such as job placement services or county resources, to help ensure success for the students
    14. Help provide a safe and appropriate environment that not only promotes student success but also holds them accountable for meeting expectations


    PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Helps students learn all appropriate state standards for their subject area/grade level as defined by the district approved curriculum
    2. Responsible for creating instructional activities and lesson plans for all days that student days, including when the staff member is absent
    3. Assess student learning and performance on a regular basis, providing feedback to both the student and their parent/guardian through our online portal
    4. Available outside of the school day to meet with colleges, administrators, students, and parents when required or requested to fulfill other job duties
    5. Maintain accurate and complete records regarding grades, attendance, progress, and behavior for students
    6. Is knowledgeable of and actively works to uphold and enforce school board policies, administrative procedures, and school rules
    7. Regularly checks email and other methods of correspondence to ensure knowledge is up to date and the lines of communication remain open
    8. Attend additional trainings, both in building and out, as needed to stay up to date and current on instructional best practices, behavior management techniques, and content specific items
    9. Regularly demonstrate a growth mindset for both students and staff
    10. Take creative risks to help students learn more effectively
    11. Maintain a positive and professional approach when interacting with students, parents, community, and other staff
