Job Description

The AI Program Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of AI specialists to manage and oversee the enterprise AI program across the health system. The team enables safe, coordinated AI adoption through developing enterprise processes, governance support, training, and tool and vendor management. This role also acts as both a technical and strategic consultant throughout the organization. The AI Program Team Lead builds and mentors an effective team while facilitating prioritization and alignment of AI initiatives with organizational goals.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience developing and managing AI tools
  • 1+ years of experience with AI healthcare enterprise software tools including Epic and/or Workday
  • Experience with AI lifecycle management and vendor assessment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading or managing a team and/or complex projects
  • Experience with AI healthcare enterprise software tools including Epic and/or Workday
  • Experience in a pediatric healthcare system

Education

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent technical training and work experience

Job Responsibilities

Partners with manager to define, develop, and expand new AI-related capabilities and processes across the organization.

  • Partners with department leaders to develop, refine, and advance their AI roadmaps.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with teams across organizational lines.
  • Creates material and presents to a diverse set of leaders across the organization about various AI initiatives.
  • Communicates with users at all levels of the organization about AI tools and technologies.

Drives completion of an independent portfolio of projects

  • Leads support for high-priority AI pilots to ensure rigorous evaluation and successful scaling decisions.
  • Partners with IS&T, product teams, and governance groups to define enterprise standards, reusable templates, and intake requirements for AI solutions.
  • Monitors the rapidly evolving healthcare AI landscape to identify relevant innovations for potential adoption.

Leads team in established processes around AI tools and training

  • Ensures team members are focused on identified priorities, acting as a point of escalation for issue resolution to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Supervises building organizational AI literacy and capability through education, training, and accessible support channels.
  • Supports maintenance of AI tool inventory and organizational reports on that inventory.
  • Monitors AI risk assessment process, ensuring timely completion and proper prioritization.

Trains, coaches, and mentors team members and assists manager with development of staff

  • Participates in hiring, interview, and onboarding processes.
  • Fosters professional development of others via constructive performance appraisals, professional development plans, and providing manager feedback.
  • Acts as a resource to help complete complicated and/or complex tasks.
