Description

The Laser Track Technician I performs basic dimensional inspection and measurement tasks using

portable laser tracking systems under close supervision. This role supports production, tooling verification, and quality assurance activities.


Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist with setup and breakdown of laser tracker equipment.

• Operate laser tracker systems under supervision.

• Perform basic part inspections and collect measurement data.

• Verify fixture and tooling dimensions.

• Record data and generate basic inspection reports.

• Follow established metrology procedures and safety standards.

• Maintain equipment cleanliness and calibration logs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.

• 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or inspection.

• Basic understanding of blueprints and measurements.

• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing fundamentals preferred.

• Attention to detail

Travel Requirements:

• Between facilities as needed.


Physical Requirements:

• May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.

• May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.


Work Environment:

Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and

fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area. All Keel locations are tobacco free where appropriate.
