    Position Overview

     

    The Head Football Coach is responsible for leading all aspects of the football program, including player development, coaching staff leadership, culture building, player recruitment, offseason preparation, and coordination of all in-season and out-of-season activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, program vision, and the ability to mentor student-athletes in a positive and constructive environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     
    • Lead and oversee the Varsity, JV, and Marvin Ridge Cluster program-wide football operations
       

    • Develop and implement a long-term vision for program growth and success
       

    • Build a positive, disciplined, and accountable team culture
       

    • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches
       

    • Coordinate strength & conditioning integration in collaboration with S&C staff
       

    • Organize, plan, and run offseason workouts, camps, and summer activities
       

    • Support student-athlete academic success including the college recruiting process
       

    • Collaborate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, budgeting, and equipment needs
       

    • Engage positively with parents, boosters, and the school community
       

    • Ensure compliance with NCHSAA, district, and school policies
       

    • Promote sportsmanship, character, and leadership among athletes

     

    Required Qualifications

     
    • Experience coaching high school or collegiate football
       

    • Demonstrated program leadership or coordinator-level experience
       

    • Strong communication and organizational skills
       

    • Ability to build relationships with student-athletes, staff, and families
       

    • Ability to meet all NCHSAA coaching and certification requirements
       

     

    Preferred Qualifications

     
    • Prior experience as a head coach or coordinator
       

    • Evidence of successful program building and player development
       

    • Teaching licensure or qualifications aligned with available school positions
       

    • Commitment to building a comprehensive year-round football program
