You are expected to perform clinical work as a component of your employment responsibilities. Your clinical responsibilities will include the care of patients with a history of congenital heart disease (ACHD), providing inpatient ACHD consulting services at the Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital (frequency to be determined collaboratively based on service needs and your other clinical and professional commitments). In addition, you will conduct approximately 3 half day ACHD outpatient clinics per week services at the Vanderbilt main-campus Clinic, the One Hundred Oaks Clinic, and/or new local or outreach locations. You will be invited to attend and contribute to the weekly adult heart transplant/VAD selection committee.
You will also participate in the care of pediatric patients at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. We anticipate that you will: 1) attend on the Pediatric heart transplant inpatient service for several weeks each year (frequency to be determined collaboratively based on service needs and your other clinical and professional commitments), 2) conduct a half day weekly pediatric heart failure/transplant outpatient clinic, and 3) attend pediatric transplant selection committee meeting
Your mix of assigned professional duties is subject to modification over time at the discretion of the Department Chair/Clinical Service Chief.
