Job Summary
El Centro Regional Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise within the nursing department. The Clinical Nurse Specialist supports patient care delivery, improves clinical outcomes, and promotes evidence-based nursing practices.
This role works closely with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and staff nurses to enhance quality of care, develop educational programs, and support professional nursing practice. The Clinical Nurse Specialist functions as a clinician, educator, consultant, and leader within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using advanced nursing expertise.
Develop and support evidence-based interventions that improve patient outcomes.
Identify quality improvement opportunities and support patient safety initiatives.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery.
Nursing Practice & Education
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff.
Assist in development of nursing education and competency programs.
Support evidence-based nursing practice and professional development.
Provide leadership in clinical decision-making and patient care initiatives.
Organizational Support
Lead and support initiatives that align with hospital quality goals and regulatory requirements.
Analyze clinical outcomes and assist leadership with improvement strategies.
Collaborate with clinical managers to evaluate patient care processes and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing required
Licensure
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License
Experience
Minimum three (3) years of recent experience in an acute care clinical setting
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (unit dependent)
Certified Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification through the California Board of Registered Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in nursing leadership or clinical education
Experience implementing evidence-based practice initiatives
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Position Pay Range: $132,912.00 - $216,777.60 /Annual Salary

Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
