Cochran’s Union, Missouri location is looking for an HR & Accounting Specialist to join our team.
Position Summary
The Human Resources & Accounting Specialist supports both HR and accounting functions, ensuring efficient operations across employee lifecycle management and financial processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to balance compliance requirements with day-to-day administrative execution.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Functions
- Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Support benefits administration (enrollment, changes, employee inquiries)
- Assist with payroll processing, audits, and reconciliation
- Coordinate training, performance review cycles, and employee engagement initiatives
- Respond to employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and HR programs
- Help ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies
Accounting Functions
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Assist with payroll accounting and general ledger entries
- Reconcile bank statements and financial records
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain accurate financial documentation and filing systems
- Assist with budgeting, reporting, and audit preparation
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in HR, accounting, or a combined role
- Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of basic HR practices and accounting principles
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
