Grounds Maintenance
In-Person - Elkridge Golf Course in Carson, Washington
Seasonal - Full-time
Starting wage: $18/hr
Opportunity to learn the industry of golf course maintenance.
Job Description:
Daily maintenance of the golf course, and landscaping.
Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
Ability to operate machinery
Ability to work independently to carry out written or verbal instructions
Ability to pay attention to detail
Able to lift 40lbs
Knowledge of golf, and landscape is a plus.
Valid state drivers license
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of horticulture and plant care.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping (preferred).
Certification in landscaping or horticulture.
Experience with irrigation systems and maintenance.
Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices.
Responsibilities:
Perform regular lawn care activities including mowing, edging, and fertilizing.
Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees through planting, pruning, and watering.
Inspect and maintain outdoor equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
Implement pest control measures and manage weeds to promote healthy plant growth.
Collaborate with property management to plan seasonal landscaping projects and improvements.
Skills:
Strong understanding of plant care and maintenance techniques, which are applied daily in tasks such as pruning and fertilizing.
Attention to detail is crucial, as the candidate will need to identify issues like pest infestations or plant diseases promptly.
Physical stamina and the ability to operate landscaping equipment safely are essential for performing various maintenance tasks efficiently
Overall, a combination of practical skills and knowledge will enable the Grounds Maintenance team to create and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces.
