Position Overview:
This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise applications to ensure performance and alignment with organizational needs. This role executes technical installations, configurations, patching, integrations, and application upgrade activities to ensure stable and efficient operations. They troubleshoot inquiries, perform root-cause analysis, automates technical processes, and maintains system integrations and performance. This role administers security controls, manages documentation, mentors junior staff, and collaborates with teams, stakeholders, and vendors to maintain reliable application environments. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, analytical problem-solving, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installs, configures, patches, and updates enterprise systems and components. Executes deployment packaging, release activities, and supports application upgrades, migrations, and cutovers (e.g. rollback planning, cross-team coordination).
- Provides routine and some complex technical support escalated from the Service Desk and escalates inquiries as needed. Conducts root cause analysis and drives long-term corrective actions through regular maintenance.
- Monitors system health (e.g. logs, performance metrics, capacity), identifies performance issues, and implements tuning adjustments to improve stability and efficiency. Escalates as needed.
- Implements and administers system-level security controls, access policies, and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitors and troubleshoots system integrations and APIs (e.g. REST endpoints, message queues) and resolves connectivity issues in collaboration with integration teams.
- Develops and maintains automation scripts (e.g. Python) to streamline deployments, monitoring, and recurring maintenance tasks.
- Supports security operations activities (e.g. vulnerability remediation, identity/access validation).
- Executes backup, restoration, and disaster-recovery tasks (e.g. validating scheduled back ups, performing restore tests, supporting business continuity exercises).
- Maintains robust technical documentation (e.g. operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, system diagrams, build documents, recovery procedures).
- Supports change management processes through documentation, risk assessment, and technical input. Performs post-deployment validation to ensure system stability.
- Assists with vendor coordination (e.g. license tracking, application of vendor remediations, validation of fixes) as needed.
- Works under limited supervision with latitude for independent judgment; regularly completes assignments with little or no assistance.
- Mentors junior staff.
- Maintains high level of adherence to cybersecurity principles, ethics practices, and company policies.
- Required to complete occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines or address emergencies as needed. Participates in on-call rotation as required.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Holds relevant certifications required for the team’s need or directed by management.
- Ability to translate business requirements into data models and reports.
- Proficiency in process modeling and workflow documentation.
- Proficiency in business analysis methodologies (gap analysis, solution design).
- Experience with cloud environments (Active Directory, Azure, AWS).
- Experience designing, developing, or maintaining enterprise applications
- Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, coding).
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX).
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL for data analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell).
- Experience with application upgrades, integrations, and optimization.
- Familiarity with source control and familiarity with CI/CD workflow concepts.
- Proficiency in ERP, HRIS, CRM systems and Agile/SDLC practices.
- Familiarity with HTML/JavaScript to support troubleshooting.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Knowledge of ITIL 4 processes preferred.
- Strong project coordination skills.
Application Specific Requirements
The Technical Analyst may support multiple enterprise applications, or they may be assigned to a specific applications team. Enterprise application systems include but are not limited to finance, emergency notifications, HRIS, data management, and infrastructure operations.

- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Supports and administers GIS and geospatial platforms, including Esri Enterprise 11.x, ArcGIS Pro, Utility Network, hydraulic modeling tools, and GeoAI applications (e.g., GeoServer, Leaflet).
- Manages geospatial data transformation and automation workflows using FME Flow (or similar tools), enterprise batch schedulers, and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, and JSON.
- Maintains and optimizes spatial databases, including Oracle Spatial and Postgres/PostGIS. Ensures accurate and reliable geospatial data for operational use.
- Utility Operations Technology (UOT)
- Supports field and infrastructure operations technologies, including CityWorks, Samsara, EAM, Locus, AutoCAD, Utilisphere, Fieldhawk, Hach WIMS, and TRAKA.
- Conducts remote problem diagnosis and resolution. Escalates as needed. Provides after-hours on-call support as needed.
- Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI)
- Administers and monitors the AMI platform. Ensures accurate endpoint communication, meter data validation, and proper configuration of AMI workflows.
- Manages AMI integrations with Oracle CC&B/CIS and the Work Order Management System. Resolves AMI data exceptions and ensures accurate meter lifecycle updates.
- Builds AMI dashboards and reports to track system performance, read success, and endpoint health for operational teams.
- Administers and supports Customer and Work Force Management Systems applications (incl. Oracle CC&B/CCS/MWM/OFS, Utiligy, Edifice, Impresa, VxField, Field Hawk, payment portals Invoice Cloud/Promise Pay/PaymodX/Promise Pay, and JIRA). Ensures accurate data flow, user access, and reliable customer/billing operations.
- Develops and validates reporting and analytics using Tableau, Crystal Reports, SQL, and related tools to deliver accurate insights for customer experience, billing, and operational decision‑making.
- Manages Customer Systems data integration and quality across enterprise platforms, troubleshooting discrepancies, maintaining data models, and supporting cross‑system workflows.
