Summary:
The Mental Health Tech has the responsibility to ensure Children & Youth is running smoothly, and to provide support to Shift and Clinical Leads.
Education Requirement:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirement:
Experience working in a mental health or crisis setting.
Mental health or crisis experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirement:
None
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct 15-minute checks and complete corresponding documentation.
- Assist in maintaining patient flow and enforce rules.
- Assist with admissions.
- Assist with discharge, including transport as needed.
- Complete diligent client observation without use of cell phone, or engaging in distracting behaviors and conversation with peers.
- Eat in designated eating areas and not in the observation areas or other client areas. All meals should be taken during approved meal times.
- Maintain clean and orderly property room.
- Ensure property is appropriately inventoried and that items are accurately returned to clients.
- Distribute and collect hygiene products as needed.
- Bag soiled linens as needed and store in biohazard room.
- Distribute meals for patients as needed.
- Clean as needed. This may include wiping down furniture, cleaning up vomit, assisting with spot cleaning as needed for our patients or as requested by a Lead.
- Participate in all required trainings.
- Read work email every business day.
- Abide by the policies and procedures as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must have demonstrated capability for consistent and methodical work with a clear appreciation of the importance of maintaining correctness of entries
- Must be able to work effectively in a crisis service delivery setting, exemplify problem solving skills, formulate appropriate crisis intervention response, demonstrate self-motivation, and possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
