Under designated supervision, dismantles, repairs, relocates, modifies, maintains, aligns, and installs sections of conveyor systems and other related mechanized distribution center support machinery and equipment as required.

Job Qualifications
Completion of high school or trade school providing formal training covering mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic mechanisms and components of industrial plant support machinery, equipment, and systems. Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirements on a nine months for nine months basis. Four years of progressively responsible experience in industrial plant support machinery equipment and systems. Must be qualified in the use of all relevant power and hand tools and test equipment and possess a working knowledge of welding, soldering, brazing, and power supply devises. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Major Duties
Regularly inspects and trouble shoots major conveyer systems in their entirety to determine if, when, and the extent of repairs required, materials or parts needed, and to estimate the time required to complete repairs.
Disassembles, repairs, and rebuilds conveyor systems component parts. This requires the ability to interpret and apply the requirements contained in technical manuals, shop directives, multi-view blueprints, and other documents in determining critical dimensions, key reference points, and electrical power requirements.
Independently dismantles, moves, and relocates various types of conveyor systems/components or installs new machinery, equipment, and electrical power supplies. May include anchoring conveyor system machinery to foundations, assembling, and connecting accessory or auxiliary components such as still ladders, platforms, and guard rails as required. Makes precision alignments and adjustments for balance and conducts operational tests of the entire system.
May set up and operate machine tools such as small lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and precision grinders to manufacture component parts or re-machine existing parts such as bushings, bearings, seals, couplings, and pistons, etc. May also use various other portable machine tools to accomplish repairs.
Independently applies standard formulas, shop mathematics, trade theories, and industry practices in calculating needed materials and problem solving. May use various test equipment and measuring devices such as alignment scopes, verniers, micrometers, precious levels, transits, strobe to chronometers, bearing bridge gauges, flow meters, hydrostatic testers, and vibration analyzers. May make necessary templates, jigs, and other fixtures required for repairs or installation utilizing a knowledge
Prepares labor and material cost estimates and develops bill of materials required for installation and maintenance of major DC conveyor systems.
May operate a motor vehicle to transport materials and personnel when required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
