Job Description

Amprius develops, designs, and manufactures very high-performance lithium-ion cells for advanced applications. Amprius invented and perfected a 100% silicon anode which enables the highest energy density cell commercially available in the industry.

 

Summary

An Electrode Process Technician will join our Electrode Manufacturing Team of technicians, engineers, and scientists to conduct experiments including material mixings, electrode coating, electrode coating, electrode inspection, cell assembly and cell test. The candidate must be reliable and able to communicate with engineers and supervise the projects as requested.

 

Job Responsibilities

·       Operate electrode coating facility to fabricate different cathode and anode electrode formulations.

·       Collaborate directly with R&D engineers and scientists to execute complex experiments, ensuring all recipes and formulas are followed with high attention to detail.

·       Clearly communicate observations, technical challenges, and project updates to the broader R&D team.

·       Meticulously input process data and observations into quality management software to support R&D traceability.

·       Use small equipment and hand tools to produce components and battery cells.

·       Safely and efficiently operate large-scale coating equipment as well as small hand tools required for component production.

·       Perform measure of materials with micrometer, mass scale, digital multi-meter, and caliper to ensure specifications are met.

·       Conduct visual inspections to evaluate and categorize electrode defects based on established quality standards.

·       Input data into quality management software to support R&D traceability.

·       Execute the physical assembly of components into complete, functional battery cells for testing.

·       Adhere strictly to safety requirements while working in cleanrooms, dry rooms, or fume hoods, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
