The Estacada School District is seeking a certified Speech Language Pathologist to work 40 hours per week providing services to K-5 students in the Estacada School District, beginning with the 2026/2027 school year.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher.

As set by Teacher Standards and Practices Commission and/or License from Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology or an educator license with a communications disorders or speech impaired endorsement issued by Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC)

Such other alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Directors or the Superintendent may find acceptable.

Successful candidates shall demonstrate proficiency to communicate clearly and appropriately verbally and in writing in English. Bilingual skills (Spanish) are preferred but not required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- License from Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology or ability to obtain within 3 years.
- Certificate of clinical competence (ASHA)
- Previous experience working as Speech Language Pathologist in a school setting
- Experience delivering speech language services through a virtual model
- Experience in evaluation, eligibility assessments and documentation
- Leading and managing eligibility and Individual Education Program meetings
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
May include, but are not limited to the following:
- Observe, screen and evaluate students to determine the current level of performance to determine eligibility for services; prepare evaluation reports and participate in drafting individual education program (IEP) goals and objectives.
- Collaboratively evaluate and determine eligibility for early childhood early education students in Estacada
- Diagnose and identify students with articulation, voice, fluency, and/or language delays and disorders using standardized, norm-referenced test instruments including determining type and severity of the disorder
- Develop speech and language service plans including determining goals, objectives, methods, materials, frequency, duration, and modifications for virtual online education program
- Provide direct therapy and instruction to students including analyzing, reviewing, and revising student progress; communicating with teachers and parents
- Design, implement, and develop activities and original instructional aides which are relevant, enhance the effectiveness of teaching, and address service plans including determining an appropriate number of activities, scheduling activities, and making group and individual behavior plans
- Develop, select and implement direct, indirect and consultative services based on individual assessment results and planning intervention goals
- Plan, develop and complete Individualized Education Plans according to District and State guidelines and policies
- Determine and implement when appropriate when students receive direct instruction services versus related services and consultative services for individual students
- Establish, maintain and communicate student schedules to students, teaching colleagues, administration and parent/guardians
- Ensure each student has up to date permanent and working files
- Regularly create and share progress reports to students, teaching colleagues, administration and parents as necessary and as required per IEP
- Complete appropriate reports for local, state, federal, and educational agencies
- Refer students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel or community agencies
- Participate in collaborative planning and inclusive practices with teaching colleagues
- Prepare documentation (evaluations, observations, contact with parents, teachers and other professionals) for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information. Track and monitor specially designed instruction in the virtual setting
- Strive to have DRAFT IEPs sent home 2 weeks (10 days) prior to meeting
- Send completed draft for finalization 10 days after IEP meeting
- Complies with all District procedures, timelines, directives, and rules relating to assignment
- Promote and embrace an inclusive learning environment for all students
- Perform related duties as assigned
SALARY, BENEFITS, CONTRACT
- $61,130 - $106,521 (Prorated for actual days worked and dependent upon verified years of experience and education as shown on official transcripts)
