    Purpose Statement
    To create flexible grade level programs and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
    Responsibility
    Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; and tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization's services.
    Working Environment
    The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments. There may be occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue; occasional interaction among unruly children.

    Supervises        Students as assigned
    Education           Bachelors degree, or higher
    Qualifications    Appropriate certification for subject area and grade level as defined by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE)
    Experience        Preferred but willing to provide mentor for first year teacher
    Terms                Salary and work year to be determined according to the current schedule and Negotiated Agreement.

    Salary based on experience and education. Current negotiated agreement benefits for certified staff are $415 applied towards Health insurance, employee match of $30 minimum � $150 maximum if enrolled into a 403b plan after one year of employment; District paid term life insurance; and paid leave days.  Other benefits offered are salary protection, cancer insurance, voluntary life & AD&D, KPERS, voluntary life, accident insurance, and employee daycare.
