Job Description

Title:                                      High School Girls Basketball Coach


 


Qualifications:                         



  1. Certificate, license, or legal credential required.

  2. Degree(s) required and area of major study

  3. Kind and amount of prior job experience required.

  4. Such other qualifications as the Board may deem acceptable and appropriate


Reports To:                             Athletic Director


 


Job Goal:                                To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values                                                  of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.


 


 


 


Performance Responsibilities



  • Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sports involved.

  • Plans and schedule regular program of practice in season.

  • Works closely with the Head Basketball Coach in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.

  • Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.

  • Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.

  • Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that student are present.

  • Assumes responsibility for enforcement and compliance with all MHSAA regulations

  • Provides guidance to high school athletics regarding NCAA recruiting and academic regulations

  • Establishes and enforces district physical and academic requirements for eligibility

  • Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.

  • Performs any other tasks as required by the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent, or the Superintendent’s designee


 


Terms of Employment:            Ten, eleven, or twelve month year.  Salary and work year will be established by the Board.


 


Evaluation:                             Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on


                                             Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
