    This contract position with the Northern Neck Regional Special Education Program offers an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to support students across grades Pre-K-12 in both Richmond and Lancaster counties.  

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
    • Active Virginia OT license (or eligibility and willingness to obtain prior to start)
    • Effective communicator with collaborative approach and adaptability to diverse student needs
    • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work on-site
    • Commitment to student development and collaborative problem-solving

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide occupational therapy services to students ranging from Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade
    • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
    • Assess student needs and progress to ensure effective intervention strategies
    • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school policies and state regulations
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive learning environment
    • Deliver support for K12 students and collaborate closely with educational teams to foster student success enhancing participation, independence, and functional skills across school settings
    • Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy aligned with students IEPs and/or Section 504 Plans
    • Design and implement individualized therapy plans targeting each students unique goals
    • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure integrated support
    • Participate in IEP meetings and Section 504 meetings, contributing expertise to goal-setting and student progress discussions
    • Address fine motor skills, sensory processing challenges, and assist students in developing greater functional independence
    • Serve students across K-12 grade levels

    Location and Schedule:

    • Position based in Lancaster and Richmond Counties
    • Onsite work only, no remote option
    • Academic year contract
