Key Responsibilities
Project & Vendor Management
Manage scope, schedule, and execution of BMS, DCIM, and EPMS vendors during data center construction
Coordinate across multiple stakeholders to align deliverables, requirements, and timelines
Develop and define scopes of work for controls and site improvement projects
Support procurement activities including RFP development, vendor evaluations, RFIs, and purchase order issuance
Track project progress and provide regular status updates to Construction and Operations Systems leadership
Technical Oversight
Review and provide feedback on controls sequences of operation during design phases
Perform detailed reviews of BMS and EPMS submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications
Interpret and review:
Controls drawings and wiring diagrams
Bill of Materials (BOM)
Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings
Ensure systems are deployed in accordance with approved scope, design standards, and applicable codes (e.g., NEC)
Construction & Commissioning Support
Support and oversee controls-related commissioning activities in the field
Conduct regular site visits to active construction projects to verify installation quality and vendor compliance
Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines
Execution & Delivery
Work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environments
Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure successful system delivery
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
High School Diploma required (technical degree or certifications preferred)
2+ years of experience in controls, electrical construction, or project management in critical environments (e.g., data centers, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, power, water)
Experience managing multiple vendors and cross-functional teams in project environments
5 years of Controls related experience.
Strong understanding of:
Industrial controls systems
Electrical diagrams and engineering documentation
Standard operating procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers
What Success Looks Like
Controls systems delivered on time, within scope, and compliant with design standards
Strong coordination between vendors, construction teams, and engineering
Minimal rework due to effective submittal and design reviews
High-quality system commissioning and successful project handoff
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or other related engineering degrees preferred.
Work environment:
- Fast paced environment
- Travel required
