    Work Schedule: 
    190 day contract with up to ten additional days as assigned by the Special Education Director; 7 hours and 40 minutes per day; periodically required to attend after-school or evening events.    

     

    POSITION SUMMARY
    Provide behavior consultation and support for students with disabilities within the Bryant School District.   

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Essential Functions Statement(s)
     Identify and direct Behavioral Health Priorities for the district and department.   
     Provide leadership in guiding development of policy and procedures related to behavior for students with disabilities.
     Participate in district crisis response planning and services.  
     Work with special education staff in developing and integrating social emotional learning into the curriculum.  
     Provide leadership with program development within our LINKS classrooms for students with disability related behavioral concerns.  
     Provide individual and classroom consults to provide recommendations addressing behavioral concerns.  
     Participate in the district Autism Assessment Team.  
     Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments, develop Positive Behavioral Support Plans as needed.  
     Conduct program evaluations and data collection to guide the work of the special education program.  
     Coach and model behavioral strategies for staff and families of students with special needs.  
     Collaborate with private providers serving district students to coordinate efforts and to avoid duplication of services.  
     Periodically conduct internal audits to inform procedures.  
     Provide staff development upon request to educators, administrators and therapists.   
     Provide direct student services as needed such as intensive In School Suspension as part of a behavioral intervention.  
     Serve as a trainer and monitor the use of Professional Crisis Management for Bryant Staff.   
     Confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals to develop Individual Educational Programs designed to promote students' educational, physical and social development.   
     Meet and confer with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, determine priorities for their children based on their needs, provide guidance in using community resources, and teach skills for dealing with students' impairments.  
     Participate in Professional Learning Communities as assigned.  
     Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on children and activities, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.   
     Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.   
     Report suspected bullying to building principal or designee as required by Arkansas law and district policies.  
     Adhere to all policies of the district.  
     Complete other duties as assigned by the Special Education Director.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

     

    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Education or related field. 
    Master's Degree Preferred, Field of Study: Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Education or related field. 

     

     

    Experience:
    Three years experience in behavioral health preferred. Experience in public school preferred.

     

     

    Computer Skills:Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position.  

     

    Certifications &
    Licenses:
    Must have current credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Social Worker, Psychologist, or Concurrent Arkansas Department of Education license in teaching, school psychology, Special Education and/or guidance counseling. Must meet all state and federal requirements for the position.   

     

    Other Requirements:1. Successful completion of pre-employment background checks.
    2. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students and other staff members.  

     

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT 
    Most job responsibilities for this position are performed in an indoor, school environment that is temperature controlled (heated and cooled) according to the season. Noise levels are mostly low to moderate. Must be willing to travel to multiple school sites as part of the work day.
