Job Title: Bike Rental Attendant

Job Summary:
A Bike Rental Attendant helps customers rent bicycles, ensures equipment is safe and ready to use, and provides basic guidance on routes and bike operation. This role combines customer service, light mechanical work, and day-to-day rental operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and assist with selecting appropriate bikes and rental equipment
• Explain rental rates, policies, and safety guidelines
• Fit bikes to customers (seat height, helmet sizing, basic adjustments)
• Complete rental agreements and process payments (POS system or cash handling)
• Inspect bikes before and after rentals for safety and damage
• Perform basic maintenance (inflate tires, lubricate chains, fix minor issues)
• Manage rental inventory and track bike availability
• Provide directions, trail recommendations, and local area information
• Clean and organize bikes, helmets, and shop area
• Handle returns, including checking condition and logging any issues

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic mechanical aptitude (willingness to learn simple bike maintenance)
• Attention to detail and responsibility with equipment tracking
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable handling transactions and paperwork
• Ability to lift and move bikes (25–50 lbs)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in retail, rentals, or customer-facing roles
• Familiarity with bicycles and cycling safety
• Knowledge of local trails, routes, or tourist areas
• Interest in outdoor recreation or tourism
