What you can expect:

A Medical Assistant supports the delivery of care to patients and guides patients throughout the flow of clinical care appointments, under the direction of the Practice Manager and the care team Provider. This role performs patient support services including, but not limited to, rooming, taking and documenting vitals, collecting lab samples, and supporting patients with the acquisition of ancillary services, following the Patient-Centered Medical Home standard model of care.

 Pay:

Medical Assistant Educator: $32.53/hour

How you will make an impact:

Under the direction of the Ambulatory Clinical Quality Educator Manager (ACQE), the Medical Assistant Educator (MAE) will assist in conducting training and development programs for employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Duties include helping the ACQE in training and development needs in Practice Operations for Practice Managers, Site Supervisors, and Medical Assistants; assisting the ACQE in developing training strategies, policies, and procedures; assisting on training implementation workflows; training employees; and providing development coaching and mentoring. Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with Practice Operations leadership, Practice Managers, Site Supervisors, and Medical Assistants 
  • Assist in organizing and presenting various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees under the direction of the Ambulatory Clinical Quality Educator.
  • Assists in developing unique training programs to fulfill employees’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Assists in creating and/or acquiring training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
  • Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats, including group discussions, lectures, simulations, and videos.
  • Assist in the delivery of training programs 
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Assist in the assessment of training materials prepared by instructors/third-party vendors.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
  • Establishes monitoring and auditing practices to assure the accuracy of data collection.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. 
  • Performs other duties as needed as assigned

 QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL REQUIRED:

Required:

  • 8+ years minimum of relevant experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
  • 8+ years minimum of medical office experience required
  • 2+ years’ experience providing Hands on Training and Knowledge base training to staff Medical Assistants
  • Ability to use computers and office software, business office machines, tools, equipment as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including being approachable, and ability to communicate complex information with learners who may range from beginners to expert
  • Detail oriented and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain collaborative working relationship with all staff members
  • A strong team player with the aptitude to handle multiple projects independently and establish priorities
  • Strong skills in Infection Control (OSHA Requirements)
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with situations.
  • Current certification as a:
    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or;
    • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Medical Technologists (AMT) or;
    • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or;
    • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health career Association (NHA
  • Certification is expected to be maintained.

Preferred:

  • 2 plus years in a supervisory role or any equivalent combination of experience
  • Bilingual – Spanish/English highly regarded
  • Experience with Patient Centered Medical Home model
