    Position Title:Systems Administrator

    Department:District Office

    Reports to:Director of Technology & Innovation    

    Summary:    

    Provides technical assistance in repairing, replacing, configuring, and deploying technology. Manages user accounts, group policies, and inventory. Monitors devices and infrastructure health, and systems for necessary software and security updates. Maintains District's technology systems.

     

    ESSENTIAL  DUTIES  AND  RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide Help Desk support to IT Technician when volumes are high
    • Serve as first escalation point of contact for IT Technician
    • Maintaining hardware: 
      • Responsible for the scheduling and distribution of all district devices and peripherals. 
      • Overseeing or assisting with hardware installations and updates.
    • Manage and maintain a server environment including patching, resource allocation, backup management, and basic architecture knowledge.
    • Strong ability to troubleshoot and maintain hardware/software, and network including wireless, LAN/WAN, DNS/DHCP, common remote solutions (RDP and VPN), Firewall/Security and port configuration.
    • User and group management through account creation, rostering, content filtering, and permissions.
    • Manage relationships with vendors for support and maintenance (Including printing, Chromebook care, and IT contractors).
    • Maintaining standards and documentation on an ongoing basis as products and technologies evolve.
    • Attend all technology department meetings.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Director of Technology or other designee.

     

     

    SUPERVISORY  RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    None

     

     

     

    EDUCATION  AND/OR  EXPERIENCE:

    College degree and/or related training in networking and systems technology.  At least one year of experience in a similar role.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents.  Ability to complete reports and correspondence.  

     

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
