Job Description

Job Purpose: 

The Room Attendant is an essential ambassador of comfort and cleanliness, responsible for creating a serene and polished environment that guests can retreat to and rely on. With precision, pride, and a commitment to detail, this role supports the guest experience by ensuring that rooms are immaculately maintained and refreshed. At Main Street Hospitality, our Room Attendants are more than cleaners—they are caretakers of the guest experience, upholding our brand’s high standards and ensuring each room reflects the care and thoughtfulness that define our service. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Clean and prepare guest rooms and suites to hotel brand standards, including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, replenishing amenities, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces. 

  • Ensure all linens are fresh and in good condition; promptly report any stained or damaged items. 

  • Restock housekeeping carts daily with necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness and organization of storage closets and carts throughout the shift. 

  • Respond to guest requests for items or services (e.g., towels, extra pillows, etc.) in a timely and courteous manner. 

  • Identify and report any maintenance or safety issues observed during daily cleaning to the housekeeping supervisor or engineering team. 

  • Practice proper handling of guest belongings and demonstrate respect for guests’ privacy and security at all times. 

  • Maintain consistent quality, pace, and attention to detail across all assigned rooms or areas. 

  • Adhere to hotel safety and sanitation procedures, including the use of PPE when required. 

  • Perform any and all other duties as requested by management in support of housekeeping and hotel operations. 

Education & Experience:   

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 

  • Previous laundry or housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar environment preferred. 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work at a productive pace without sacrificing quality. 

  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 

Professional Characteristics: 

  • Punctual, dependable, and proactive in maintaining cleanliness standards. 

  • Approachable and team-oriented with a willingness to assist across departments as needed. 

  • Takes initiative and follows through on assignments with minimal supervision. 

  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical labor throughout the shift. 

  • Must be comfortable working in environments that may be warm and humid due to equipment and conditions.
