Job Summary

Join HOOPP’s Balance Sheet & Liquidity Management team, where one of our key functions is managing all securities lending and collateral management activities across our entire portfolio. These activities are essential to enabling HOOPP to implement its investment strategies.

As an intern on our team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic trading environment, working closely with investment professionals while enhancing and maintaining our on-desk codebase. You’ll be involved in both daily operational tasks and technology-driven process improvements making a real impact from day one.

What you will do:

  • Support securities lending and collateral management processes, including monitoring recalls, shorts, and optimizing collateral usage.

  • Work with operations, valuations, and settlements teams to ensure smooth trade execution.

  • Promptly respond to counterparties via chat, email, and Bloomberg.

  • Perform trade reconciliations and post-trade reporting.

  • Collaborate with technology teams to automate workflows and develop internal tools.

  • Conduct data analysis to support trading and hedging decisions.

  • Handle ad hoc requests as determined by managers.

What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Arts with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Python (pandas experience preferred) and familiarity with databases.

  • Knowledge of equity investments and financial instruments (options, futures, bonds) is an asset.

  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for financial markets and a self-starter mindset.

 

The expected hourly rate range for this role is $26.00 to $40.00
