Job Description

Assists with responsibility for the entire program which includes: 



  1. Assists with Coaching the varsity squad and supervising JV & assistant coaches within the program. 

  2. Giving guidance to the high school junior varsity program. 

  3. Implements district athletic department policies. 

  4. Works with the MSD Athletic Director, Athletic Coordinator, Varsity Coach  and Principal 

  5. Communicating high school game schedule.

  6. Communication of travel for out-of-town trips. 

  7. Verification of student physical examination/Family ID requirements of the high school.  

  8. Remains with students and supervises them while traveling to away competitions. 

  9. Cares for athletes and injured athletes. 

  10. Cares for, maintains and oversees the storage of all equipment and uniforms.

  11. Prepares award lists and season records. 

  12. Attends all state meetings where the program is involved and operates within the policies of the MSD.

  13. Keeps informed on current trends in your sport and attends and participates in clinics in your sport. 

  14. Maintains active membership in related professional organizations. 

  15. Maintains a positive staff relationship with other coaches.

  16. Performs other duties as assigned by the MSD Athletic Director/Athletic Coordinator and Principal to inform them about the program as well as your expectations of them and the players. 

  17. Communicates with players about personal development during the season as well as the off-season. 

  18. Holds meetings with parents regarding sportsmanship. 

  19. Promotes the high school program by encouraging participation of players of the upcoming season. 

  20. Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
