- Enforce company health and safety programs to meet or exceed all MSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with all safety protocols
- Ensure proper and timely reporting of all incidents, injuries, and health hazards to MSHA and company leadership.
- Lead incident investigations, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Promote and enforce a proactive safety culture where every employee is accountable for safety.
- Plan, organize, and direct daily production activities and resource allocation to optimize productivity.
- Manage the operational budget, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and control costs.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure all mining equipment and facilities are maintained in safe, reliable, and compliant condition.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot operational problems and provide clear, actionable solutions.
- Supervise, train, and mentor production personnel, including frontline supervisors, to build a high-performing and motivated team.
- Assist in personnel actions such as hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.
- Conduct comprehensive MSHA-aligned training for all miners, covering new miner orientation, annual refresher courses, and task-specific training.
- Ensure compliance with all State and Federal Safety and Environmental regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
