About the role.

The Electronic Technician Programmer Lead will lead and/or instruct others with the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and equipment.

 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Responsible for shift performance and the completion of scheduled maintenance work on all plant processing and packaging equipment.
  • Possess the technical knowledge and ability to design or repair all types of plant network systems.
  • Ability to design, install, and troubleshoot PLC control systems and associated control devices using current McCain programming standards.
  • Performs PLC programming on project type tasks from narratives and/or verbal instruction.
  • Assist with the assessment of candidates and training of new and existing team members.
  • Serves as a team leader to assist other Electronic Technicians with their duties, responsibilites and training
  • Lead, instructs, and assists others in the safe execution of maintenance work as directed by the Electronics Supervisor..

 

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or technical school; or four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to program Allen-Bradley PLCs and networks, programming and design of HMI systems. Working knowledge of test equipment. Including oscilloscope, digital test meters, insulation test meggers, hand held programmers, and 4 to 20 ma source meters.
  • Strong computer background including PC hardware, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows
  • Must possess a general knowledge of Local Area Network; ability to read and understand schematics, utilize PC and PLC for diagnostics and troubleshooting; have experience with AC/DC voltages ranging from 5 to 480 volts; have experience with electrical wiring in accordance with the National Electric Code; experience with Instrumentation, motor and process controls, and experience with repairing and maintaining all types of equipment.
