Management Level:

P3

SUMMARY:

As a key driver of the Caseyville facility's success, you will bridge the gap between high-level engineering design and floor-level execution. This role is designed for a "boots-on-the-ground" engineer who thrives in the fast-paced CPG environment. You will lead efforts to optimize high-speed packaging lines, reduce waste through Lean methodologies, and manage capital projects that enhance our competitive edge. Your mission is to transform the factory floor into a model of efficiency, ensuring our products reach consumers with world-class quality and speed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Act as the primary change agent on the factory floor, utilizing Lean, RCA, and Kaizen events to optimize throughput on packaging and processing lines.
  • Operational Start-up Support: Roll up your sleeves to support starting up a new facility, identifying bottlenecks in real-time and implementing immediate corrective actions.
  • Strategic Capex Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of factory-led capital projects, specifically focusing on packaging automation, material handling, and CPG-specific equipment upgrades.
  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate with Operations, Warehouse, Safety, and Quality to ensure that CI initiatives align with Factory Goals.
  • Vendor & Contractor Leadership: Lead the bidding and selection process for equipment vendors, ensuring specialized packaging machinery meets our rigorous value, quality, and "speed-to-market" requirements.
  • Technical Compliance: Ensure all plant layouts and process designs adhere to USDA, and OSHA standards—critical for maintaining food safety.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) metrics to justify equipment investments and process changes.

ADDITIONAL INTERNAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • No more than four (4) attendance points on an eight (8) point policy.

  • No written warnings in the past six (6) months.

  • No suspensions on record for the last twelve (12) months.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Packaging Engineering preferred).
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in a CPG or High-Speed Packaging environment preferred.
  • Open to high-potential new graduates with relevant internship experience in manufacturing.
  • Technical Toolkit: Proven experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Whys, FMEA, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, thermoforming, cartoning, or palletizing technology is a significant plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel), AutoCAD. Experience with Solidworks or Revit is highly desirable for plant layout optimization.
  • Soft Skills: An "owner’s mindset" with a passion for mentorship on the floor. You must be able to translate complex engineering data into actionable insights for frontline operators.
  • Travel: 10% (Variable based on project phase and equipment FATs).
  • Sponsorship is not available. Must reside within the United States.
  • Highly recommended to submit a resume to be considered.
