Job Overview:
Responsible for core tax accounting functions necessary to ensure income taxes are properly accounted for pursuant to IAS 12, including preparation of tax provision calculations, interpreting tax and accounting regulations, and developing disclosures for financial reporting. The role also includes involvement in compliance-related activities as assigned.
Note: This role may evolve as the tax department in Atlanta is established
Responsibilities:
- Prepares the processes involved in the preparation of the taxation reporting packages for
the NAFTA group companies. (30%)
- Supports analysis of book and tax basis of leased assets in the financial services portfolios as needed. (10%)
- Prepares projected tax calculations for planning purposes as well as effective tax rate
reconciliations. (10%)
- Performs research, support and documentation needed for quarterly and yearly auditing
Activities (10%)
- Guides Management's decisions by examining tax accounting consequences of
various financial options. (10%)
- Assist with preparation of stand-alone financial statements including income tax
footnote disclosures and support workpapers required for interaction with external
auditors. (10%)
Assist the Tax Department with compliance tasks as necessary, including but not limited to federal and state income tax compliance and supporting workpapers (10%)
- Participates in compliance responsibilities related to internal controls and tax
accounting processes. (10%)
Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
This position requires a minimum of 2 years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes:
Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 2 years of Accounting or Tax experience. A public accounting
background is preferred, and experience with income tax and exposure to IAS12 or ASC740 is a plus
Education:
Bachelor's Degree is required, Master's Degree is preferred. Recommended majors include:
MS in Taxation or Accounting preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect data, establish facts, and identify trends and variances
Proficiency in PC skills and Microsoft Office applications
Experience working with SAP
Effective presentation and communication skills
Demonstrated problem‑solving abilities
Working knowledge of Alteryx (desired but not required)
Familiarity with internal control frameworks (desired but not required)
