ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections, tests, and quality checks throughout the production process for structural and architectural precast concrete products. This role ensures all products meet PCI, company, and project specifications prior to shipment. The Quality Technician works closely with production and quality teams to identify issues, maintain documentation, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU�LL DO

  • Perform pre-pour, post-pour, and final inspections on precast concrete products
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials, equipment, or test results to QC leadership
  • Ensure products meet PCI, company, and project specifications prior to shipment
  • Maintain accurate quality control documentation in compliance with required standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, production drawings, and project specifications
  • Use testing tools and equipment such as slump cones, air meters, scales, ovens, and sieves
  • Conduct accurate measurements using tape measures and other precision tools
  • Perform basic material testing and analysis to support quality assurance processes
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas while following all safety procedures
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and QC teams to resolve quality issues

They are dependable, precise, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment where accuracy and consistency are critical. This individual takes pride in their work, communicates effectively with production teams, and is committed to ensuring high-quality, compliant finished products.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • ACI or PCI certification preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, concrete, construction, or precast environments preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Basic math skills and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to use measuring and testing tools accurately
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
