Part-Time Position

The Chatham County Resource Conservation Education Center is hiring a part-time Recycling Center Attendant. If you meet the minimum requirements, you may be just the person we need to be part of our recycling team.

Position Duties

• Assists with the operation and maintenance of the Resource Conservation Education Center. 
• Performs various customer service and manual labor tasks in an assigned area of responsibility. 
• Uses customer service and interpersonal skills to assist customers and site visitors with unloading recyclable materials.
• Instructs and reviews recycling guidelines with patrons to ensure their compliance and understanding of services and policies. 
• Performs minor building maintenance utilizing typical tools and equipment. 
• Uses a backpack blower to maintain a clean work environment. 
• Maintains all work areas in a clean and orderly condition. 
• Secures equipment, tools, and two outside gates at the close of business each day. 
• Maintains complete and accurate records of related work activities. 
• Supervises or works with volunteers and community service workers assigned to assist at the Recycling Center. 
• Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
