Job Description

The Instructor is a full-time, academic year position in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in the principal preparation, teacher leader, and superintendent preparation programs. Responsibilities will include teaching graduate courses and service to the program, the department, the school and the university. Teaching assignments may include online, evening, weekend, and satellite courses. Summer assignments are available subject to enrollment and funding.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Educational Administration or Leadership, or an equivalent field by appointment date.
  • Applicants must have a current Professional Educator’s License with a Principal Endorsement
  • Applicants must have at least two years of PK-12 administrative experience
  • Clearly demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and engaged service to the program
  • Ability to effectively teach graduate courses leading to superintendent, principal, and teacher leader endorsements
  • Knowledge, skill, and demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Professional Educator’s License with a Superintendent Endorsement
  • At least five years of PK-12 administrative experience
  • At least two years as a district leader
  • Skill in mentoring and advising graduate students
  • Skill in supervising field-based internships
  • Readiness to cooperate on shared responsibilities in a department with a commitment to collaboration
