Job Summary:   

The Manager of Vendor Oversight leads sourcing, contract execution, and performance management for healthcare vendor partners. This role oversees the contractual performance of the vendors to ensure compliance, service excellence, and accurate payment, while partnering with internal departments to align vendor performance with organizational goals.  


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement vendor management processes including vendor selection, onboarding, offboarding, performance tracking, contract lifecycle management, and risk assessment. 
  • Track vendor performance to service delivery, contractual compliance and opportunities for improvement through audits, data analysis, and feedback to ensure adherence to quality, regulatory, and contractual standards; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities, service improvements, and risk mitigation strategies related to vendor services.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of vendor engagements, from onboarding and implementation to renegotiation and termination, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal service disruption.
  • Negotiate, review, and manage vendor contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to secure cost-effective and value-driven partnerships.  
  • Develop and maintain tools and templates to support vendor management activities, including dashboards, vendor scorecards, performance metrics, and reporting materials.
  • Serve as the day-to-day manager of key vendor relationships which includes building, nurturing, and maintaining positive working relationships between the Company and its vendors. 
  • Ensure contract requirements are adhered to, including language, terms, and reimbursement requirements; compliance with state and federal regulations, applicable regulatory requirements including HIPAA, HITECH, ERISA, ACA, and applicable cybersecurity standards, including healthcare legislation changes by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes,
  • Act as a resource for internal teams when consultant, business associate and nondisclosure agreements or other information to support compliance are required.
  • Partner with internal department leaders to identify current and future vendor needs and support vendor strategy. Assist internal partners with new vendor selection.
  • Support internal, client, and regulatory audits related to vendor management and third-party relationships.
  • Provide recommendations on vendor strategy, vendor consolidation, and long-term alignment with company objectives.



Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience managing vendor relationships, preferably at a TPA or Health Plan vendor (PBMs, networks, stop-loss carriers, claims platforms, etc) in a network/procurement/compliance/ regulatory/legal or project management role
  • Ability to conduct negotiations. Familiarity with contract terms preferred.
  • Proven track record actively managing vendors and delivering measurable results (cost, service, risk)
  • Working knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA Privacy & Security, ERISA, ACA)
  • Strong experience negotiating contracts and managing performance in a regulated environment
  • Comfortable working in a high-autonomy environment with limited existing structure
  • Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability using a computer which includes expert keyboard and navigation skills and learning new programs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal departments, external customers and vendors.
  • Work effectively individually and as part of a team to achieve established outcomes. Understand other’s roles and empower one another to take responsibility to be successful.

Pay may vary based on location. Offers will be adjusted based on an individual's experience, education, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.  Pay range is  95-130k annually.
