Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant with hands‑on manufacturing experience to own inventory valuation, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on accuracy, audit readiness, and alignment between financial results and production activity.

What You’ll Do

  • Own inventory valuation, including SLOB/obsolete reserves and related journal entries
  • Maintain and support standard costs, including participation in annual cost rolls
  • Reconcile inventory and Work‑in‑Process (WIP) during month‑end close
  • Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, labor, overhead, yield/scrap)
  • Support audits with defensible costing and inventory documentation
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to ensure costs reflect production reality

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a discrete manufacturing environment
  • Direct, hands‑on cost accounting experience (not just exposure)
  • Experience with standard costing, inventory reserves, WIP, and variances
  • Strong Excel skills for reconciliations and analysis
  • ERP experience in inventory and costing modules
  • Ability to clearly communicate cost and inventory information to non‑finance teams

Nice to Have

  • CPA or CMA
  • Experience in high‑tech, semiconductor, or materials manufacturing

This role is best suited for experienced cost accountants who enjoy detailed, hands‑on work and being accountable for the accuracy of manufacturing financials.
