We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant with hands‑on manufacturing experience to own inventory valuation, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on accuracy, audit readiness, and alignment between financial results and production activity.
What You’ll Do
- Own inventory valuation, including SLOB/obsolete reserves and related journal entries
- Maintain and support standard costs, including participation in annual cost rolls
- Reconcile inventory and Work‑in‑Process (WIP) during month‑end close
- Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, labor, overhead, yield/scrap)
- Support audits with defensible costing and inventory documentation
- Partner with Operations and Engineering to ensure costs reflect production reality
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a discrete manufacturing environment
- Direct, hands‑on cost accounting experience (not just exposure)
- Experience with standard costing, inventory reserves, WIP, and variances
- Strong Excel skills for reconciliations and analysis
- ERP experience in inventory and costing modules
- Ability to clearly communicate cost and inventory information to non‑finance teams
Nice to Have
- CPA or CMA
- Experience in high‑tech, semiconductor, or materials manufacturing
