Job Description

Job Summary
This is an Operations support position providing process development, process improvement, tool verification, tool validation, material sampling, and development functions at a high level as guided by the Engineering and as directed by the Production Manager. Train and maintain skill set for all Process Technicians, Maintenance and Sampling as we grow. Work is to be performed with a high degree of independence that is subject to the review of the Production Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and oversee the qualification of processes.
2. Work closely with the Quality Control department and the customer develop inspection methods and sampling plans to ensure that all products and processes conform to the customer requirements.
3. Support the Process Engineers running projects.
4. Support Production processes with troubleshooting and processing issues.
5. Perform data analysis processes.
6. Support existing production tooling design changes when needed.
7. Continually improve skills by taking appropriate training courses as necessary.
8. Identifies potential problems with machinery, molds, process criteria, and auxiliary equipment and any other item that could interfere with quality system and makes recommendation on the repair.
9. Cooperates with other departments to insure that product quality meets customer’s expectations.
10. Must be capable of understanding injection molding, process control, machine capability, mold capability, material processing and auxiliary equipment operations.
11. Communicates with all personnel on a daily basis.
12. Serves as primary troubleshooter when machine, tool, or process problems develop during production runs.
13. Responsible for maintaining safe work environment and sees that all shop safety rules are being followed and all housekeeping standards are met.
14. Will complete job related reports and documentation in a timely manner such as, schedules, machine setups, process data, and sampling reports.
15. Communicates daily with Production Manager and Supervisors.
16. Identifies potential problems with current systems and develops new standards to solve them.
17. Responsible for the accuracy of all data generated during the sampling process, and that the correct paper work is forwarded to the correct individuals and departments.
18. Direct employees and temporary personnel from other departments as needed.
19. Responsible for bringing melt rheology and equipment to today’s standards.
20. Responsible for the use of EPOS when necessary for the collection of data during DOE sampling, and conformation runs.
21. Stay current with the latest developments in the plastics molding industry through the use of trade magazines, trade shows, and supplier visits.
22. Performs related work and tasks as required.
