Duties

The National Vetting Center (NVC) administers classified vetting programs and capabilities supporting front-line mission partners making adjudicative decisions with national security implications across the federal government. This position will manage a portfolio of programs of varying size, complexity, priority, and maturity. Program Managers interact daily with all levels of multiple organizations throughout the interagency and National Vetting Enterprise. NVC Program Managers must be capable of effectively and simultaneously managing competing priorities, multiple lines of effort, evolving direction and guidance, and assignments that range from conceptual to well defined. The NVC is a fast-paced, high-demand environment responsive national-level guidance and priorities. Program Managers are expected to take responsibility for all aspects of their projects, working to address issues, resolve challenges, and identify a path to success rapidly and in collaboration with others.

Qualifications

Qualifications required: Experience with vetting programs, capabilities, processes, and techniques. Exceptional and demonstrated customer service skills. Exceptional/demonstrated program management skills and practical/applied experience. Excellent written and oral communication and briefing skills. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Ability to work with minimal direction and seek assistance/clarification as needed. Ability to lead teams of multiple skill levels, grades, backgrounds to successfully achieve objectives. Ability to balance and manage shifting priorities and assignments. **DHS does not offer any additional benefits beyond that which the Federal employee is already receiving. If the position requires a security clearance, employees must have a SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance to placement AND must maintain that level of clearance while performing in the position. Selected applicants for a JDA are requested to fulfill the items below during the JDA: Complete the DHS Training Course 15 days prior to the arrival to the JDA. Complete the DHS Joint Duty Assignment Progress Plan to include: Phase 1: Establish assignment objectives within the first 30 days of the JDA. Phase 2: Complete a self-assessment of the duties performed at the mid-point of the JDA. Phase 3: Complete a final review within the last 30 days of the JDA.
