Director of Nursing (DON) - Full-Time

Job Summary:

Aspire of Perry is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team in Perry, Iowa. As the DON, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to our nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Provide strategic leadership for resident care, coordinating care and services to promote quality of life.

  • Direct management of the nursing team, ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents.

  • Provide clinical care through the application of the nursing process, including resident assessments, individualized service plans, and hands-on clinical care.

  • Exercise administrative authority regarding the operation of the Care Center.

  • Provide oversight of the community medication management program, promoting resident safety.

  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other clinical providers to coordinate care and services.

  • Establish and maintain the site Infection Control Program.

  • Provide clinical training and education to nurse and other care providers.

  • Track, trend, and report clinical quality data, identifying risk and implementing quality improvement initiatives.

  • Manage the nursing budget and implement strategies to meet budget parameters.

  • Support regulatory compliance for the community and clinical items under your purview.

  • Current Georgia RN license.

  • Current certification in adult CPR.

  • 2+ years of experience as an RN, with one year in long-term care preferred.

  • 1+ years of nursing management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision.

  • Experience as a DON or ADON in geriatric nursing preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding long-term care.

  • Experience tracking, trending, and analyzing clinical performance data preferred.
