Position Overview:
This position is responsible for the outside sales of Mortgage and Home Equity products. This is done by building strong referral-based relationships with key stakeholders from different areas of the real estate market. The successful candidate will be responsible for loan origination, sales activities, member experience, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. The outside sales model at Frontier Credit Union focuses on unique, individual relationships to sell home lending products to consumers, with a focus on building relationships with Realtors, Builders, and other Lenders. Lending products include mortgage, residential construction, bare land, and home equity loans. Our Mortgage Loan Officers work independently in collaboration with a first-class fulfillment and servicing team to ensure an amazing experience for our borrowers from origination to closing.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make sales calls to referral sources to build relationships and foster a consistent stream of referral business.
- Participate in community events and business development activities to drive sales and identify new sources of referrals to build your business. Develop and maintain strong relationships with all referral sources, including but not limited to Realtors, Brokers, Lenders, Builders, Developers, CPAs, Insurance Agents, and Title Representatives.
- Understand and interpret underwriting and eligibility guidelines for loan products offered by Frontier Credit Union and lending partners.
- Originate quality mortgage and home equity loans.
- Own the borrower relationships and create an amazing borrower experience by taking complete applications, obtaining initial documentation, locking interest rates, providing accurate disclosures, and setting expectations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable State and Federal guidelines governing Mortgage and Consumer lending.
- Comply with all Frontier Credit Union policies and procedures and further comply with federal and state regulations included but not limited to The Bank Secrecy Act, Appraiser Independence Requirements, Regulations B, Fair Lending, the Safe Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Confidentiality Agreements and Frontier Credit Union Security Policies.
- Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, economic activity and other local and national developments related to the business of Mortgage Loan Origination and Financial Institutions to position Frontier Credit Union as a leader in the industry.
- Manage the pipeline to ensure a great customer experience.
- Maintain and renew NMLS ID as required.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Very Competitive Commission based pay structure.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in outside sales, mortgage sales and/or financial services sales
- NMLS Registration or eligibility for NMLS registration
- Strong drive for sales success, resilient ability to make sales calls to referral partners and a passion for community involvement to make a difference in the lives of others.
- Influential communication style, both verbal and written
- Maintains reliable and timely attendance to service book of business. Available to work the days and hours as dictated by business needs; includes morning and evening hours and may be in coordination with real estate agents, financial planners, and others from outside the workplace to attract new clients
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from required business functions
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Physical Requirements:
Bend, sit, or stand to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion; occasional lifting to 10 lbs. Operate routine office equipment including computer terminals, keyboards, telephones, copiers, and calculators. Work on computer for up to 8 hours per day. Some locations may require ability to climb or descend stairs with minimal assistance in emergency situations.
