Aircraft Manufacturing Manager

Daher is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead all Production and Manufacturing operations within our FAA Part 21 aircraft manufacturing environment. In this critical role, you will ensure all production activities meet FAA regulations, adhere to the company’s Production Inspection System (PIS), and comply with approved design data. You will oversee assembly and fabrication processes, maintain conformity to type design, support regulatory documentation, and collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, and FAA designees. The Manufacturing Manager will guide large production teams while championing safety, quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Production Oversight & Regulatory Compliance

  • Assign production personnel according to approved manufacturing data.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure conformity with FAA‑approved drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Prevent nonconforming conditions through strong process oversight and clear communication.
  • Ensure adherence to FAA Part 21 requirements, including conformity, traceability, and use of approved data.
  • Support FAA conformity inspections, audits, and oversight activities.
  • Enforce accurate documentation and production recordkeeping.
  • Support conformity inspections, First Article Inspections (FAI/AS9102), and airworthiness requirements.
  • Enforce compliance with AS9100 and FAA quality standards.

Leadership & Workforce Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop employees through structured training programs.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and develop Production and Manufacturing staff.
  • Direct work in accordance with FAA‑approved processes and company procedures.
  • Manage employee relations, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and compliance.

Production Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain production workflow through effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring.
  • Manage and revise production schedules as needed.
  • Lead cost‑reduction, waste‑elimination, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and SeeD principles.
  • Provide daily and monthly production performance reporting.
  • Ensure production equipment is properly maintained and calibrated; coordinate repairs as required.

Cross‑Functional & Technical Collaboration

  • Work with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Procurement, Document Control, and other teams.
  • Support design changes, deviations, configuration updates, and conformity activities.
  • Ensure proper handling, preservation, and traceability of components and assemblies.
  • Monitor material flow into production and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure material availability through collaboration with Planning and Procurement.
  • Maintain strong technical and regulatory knowledge applicable to the production environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has overall supervisory responsibility for the Production departments. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning and assigning work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems—all in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience managing large teams (30+ employees).
  • Strong understanding of FAA Part 21 production requirements.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
  • Aircraft or large‑equipment manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and AS9100 preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with FAA representatives, ODA personnel, and conformity teams.

Information related to the position:

Compensation for this position starts at a base salary range of $90,000 - $125,000 plus eligibility for an annual target bonus. Any prospective offer will take into account the overall experience the successful candidate brings to the role.
