Extended School Year (ESY) is an extension of the regular school year for students with documented needs on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). A student qualifies for Extended School Year when they demonstrate significant regression in skills and a lengthier recoupment time than their peers over school breaks. In extending the school year for these students, we minimize the regression and recoupment times, providing more equitable access to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE).
